Community Service Project

APCO is proud to announce that we have partnered with Clean the World Global to host this year’s community service project at APCO 2024.

Clean the World Global, a trailblazer in sustainable impact solutions, invites you to join them in their mission to create a better world. Through their innovative Global Hospitality Recycling Program, they repurpose discarded hotel soap and amenities, transforming them into vital supplies for communities in need worldwide. Since their inception in 2009, they’ve diverted over 25.8 million pounds of waste from landfills, donated over 82 million bars of recycled soap to NGOs like The WASH Foundation, and distributed more than 5 million hygiene kits to those who need them most.

The community service project will take place on Saturday, August 3, from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. Space is limited to 50 attendees, and you must sign up in advance. Transportation to and from the site will be available from the West Building, West A/B Lobby, Level 1 Entrance of the Orange County Convention Center. You cannot drive to the site on your own. Your conference badge will be required.

Participants have the chance to engage in hands-on tasks like sorting hotel soap, packaging soap for distribution, and assisting with warehouse organization. Closed-toe shoes are required. Comfortable clothing is recommended, as the warehouse is not climate-controlled. Be prepared to get a little soapy!

Sign-up is free for all attendees and exhibitors; information on how to sign up will be sent out in the Attendee Newsletter. You must register in advance by August 1 to confirm your spot. We will not be able to accommodate on-site sign-ups.
